ASD just finished up a one and a half days session at Bear Creek Studios in Woodenville, WA. Joe Doria was in analog heaven on the session - his normal B3 rig was augmented by an ARP AXXE, Moog, Micro Korg, Clavinet D6, Grand Piano, a Prophit, and a vintage Wurlitzer. Mmm tasty overdubing. Bear Creek is a beautiful old Barn on 10 acres of prestine Washington backroad woods. Kevin Sawka was playing mainly acoustic drums. Ari Joshua Zucker recorded with full laptop, guitars, midi guitar, acoustic guitar, and electronics <including a new modified effect and guitar from Wavelength Guitars>. Also on this session the bands good friend - Bassist Jeramy Lightfoot of The Droneys. Some of the material was recorded for demo material - and some for the sophmore album due out - not any time soon (buy the first one! - chapter one - it’ll tie you over! we promise) oh and one track an ode’ to Amon Tobin - a cover song to be released at a later date.

ARISAWKADORIA Chapter One

A new dye has been cast. Arisawkadoria, the newest discovery of groundbreaking label Wax Orchard – and the torch bearers of Electronic Improv, have released a debut album that at once exceeds its great expectation, and even the sum of it’s parts.

AriSawkadoria’s debut Chapter One pushes all of its envelopes wide open. The album unfolds through the smoking lens of DnB atmospherics and a cool filter of post jazz improvisation. From the timelessly warm, and lushly analog path on the ready for radio, “Open Road,” to the experimentation and technical virtuosity of tunes like “Turtle Beats The Hare” the record creates a striking journey. Chapter One is an instrumental voyage that speaks a thousand words on why Arisawkadoria can be so at home headlining a rock festival, a jazz club, and all night underground party, in parts or in the eternity of a single evening. As Turtle revels in a league of instrumental interplay that is unmatched in this century, tracks like “After Death Part II” simmer like long exposure photos of cars racing through a city at night.

Kevin ‘KJ’ Sawka, like a glitch in the matrix, every one of his performances and recordings, shatter the illusion of mankind’s limitations behind a drum kit.

Joe Doria, is,the baddest B-3 play left of the Mississippi , and one of the last great ones standing. As if he had anything left to prove, his presence in ASD - illuminates his instruments brightest possible future.

Ari ‘Joshua’ Zucker, the young lion, born in South Africa , is not even of this world. His compositions & improvisations of Tomorrow, are a nonpareil blend of technology & technique. His visions are in surround sound and come on like the cure to dreams unfulfilled, by engineers and music lovers alike.
